Umeboshi is a recipe featured in Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic.

Info

Umeboshi, which translates to Japanese salt plums or pickled plums, are pickled ume fruit (also known as Japanese apricot) that are often eaten as a side dish to rice or in rice balls. The ume fruit itself is naturally sour, and pickling it increases its saltiness, but it still remains popular in Japanese cuisine for its antiseptic effects.

The red coloration of umeboshi comes from akajiso, the red shiso plant related to the green one used as a garnish in sushi and other dishes.
