Takoyaki is a very popular Japanese dish, as well as being a unique and fun recipe available in the Cooking Mama series.

Takoyaki translates as octopus balls, a yummy dish often found in Japan in shops or by street vendors. It is composed of batter, minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps, diced green onion, pickled ginger, and sometimes sauce. The common sauces used are either takoyaki sauce or mayonnaise. They then are sprinkled in green seaweed and bonito flakes.

When making them, a specialized pan or cooking utensil is required.

  3. Cut the octopus arms!
  4. Break the eggs!
  5. Mix it with the blender!
  6. Pour in the batter!
  7. Add the octopus!
  8. Turn it for a round shape!
  9. Put them on the tray!
  10. Put sauce on it!
  11. Shave the katsuobushi!
  12. Sprinkle it!
