Info

Mendiants are a French confectionery consisting of chocolate disks with nuts and/or fruit. They are usually made during Christmas and possesses some religious connotations.

Mendiants traditionally incorporated four ingredients to the chocolate representing four monastic orders, which are raisins, hazelnuts, dried figs, and almonds. Modern recipes for mendiants however, included more varieties of toppings.
