Gyoza is a popular dish in the Cooking Mama series. It is very common and has been made in a variety of ways, but with the same basic format in each game.

This page covers the grilled and fried versions of gyoza. The Fried Gyoza recipe is unlocked through Grilled Gyoza. There are also other variations in the form of Shrimp Gyoza and Shiso Gyouza.

Info

Gyoza is the character translation of jiaozi in China, both of which refers to thinly closed hand-rolled dough filled with small pieces of ground up meat or vegetables. They are then cooked over the stove for fried gyoza, or boiled in a pot with water for chewier gyoza.

Gyoza can be compared to a wonton or rangoon.

After the Knead! step (5), the player can change the recipe into Grilled Gyoza.

Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic

This recipe, as with most other gyoza recipes, follow the hanetsuki style, in which a slurry of flour and water is poured into the pan while cooking the gyoza. The slurry cooks alongside the gyoza, giving it a crunchy texture. The finished gyoza is then inverted with the flat side facing up.

  1. Use the food processor!
  2. Sift it!
  3. Mix it in!
  4. Roll it with your hands!
  5. Tear up the dough!
  6. Make the skin!
  7. Make gyoza!
  8. Cook the gyoza!
  9. Flip out the gyoza!
