Chow Mein is a dish available in Cooking Mama: Cook Off

Chow Mein is a dish of stir-fried noodles and can include meat and/or vegetables. Noodles may be a staple to Chinese cuisine, but chow mein is more aligned to Cantonese and Chinese fusion cuisines due to the Cantonese population serving as the main source of Chinese emigration. In Cooking Mama: World Kitchen, a dish labeled Chinese Sliced Noodles follows the same ingredients and steps as here.

Cooking Mama Cook OffEdit

  1. Cut up into pieces!
  2. Stew!
  3. Add ingredients!
  4. Knead!
  5. Cut the noodles!

  • Shiitake Mushroom
  • Fried Tofu
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Vinegar
  • Soy Sauce
  • Cake Flour
  • Bread Flour
  • Water

  • Ironically, this recipe should not even be considered chow mein, as there are no stir-frying steps. If anything, this dish resembles dāo xiāo miàn, peeled boiled noodles served with soup. The translation becomes more accurate with Chinese Sliced Noodles in Cooking Mama: World Kitchen.
    • It should be noted that this error was made during localization, as the Japanese version of the game correctly identifies the dish as dāo xiāo miàn.
